My name is Dustyn Roberts. Some time in 2006 a friend said “If the er in your last name was an o, you’d be Dustyn Robots.” I was working for Honeybee Robotics at the time and it seemed appropriate, so I registered the URL and made it official.
This website is organized in a way that will make more sense if you read this first. The professional world is largely organized into three camps: academia, industry, and government. Within academia (the camp I am in now) workload is divided into research, service, and teaching. The percentage of each depends on academic rank, among other things. I use this hierarchy to categorize my work and projects on this website, except for the “other” stuff that doesn’t fit anywhere else. You know, like pumpkin hacking.
